Clark Fork School is governed by a Board of Directors made up of parents, staff, and community members. The Board of Directors is charged with ensuring the high-quality and efficient operation of Clark Fork School as well as meeting the goals and obligations set forth by the parent cooperative.

The Board of Directors is responsible for the overall direction of the school, including assistance in long-term planning and the goals for programs, staffing, and facilities. Board meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 5:00-6:30 pm. Community members wishing to bring concerns or business items to the board may contact the Executive Director or Board President to be added to the meeting agenda.

2022/2023 BOARD MEMBERS

Sarah Hilzinger Kellogg, President:

After serving on the Finance committee in 2020-21 while my son, Eli was a Steller’s Jay (now Meadowlark), I joined the board and initially served as Treasurer, and now President. In this role, I am excited to identify some near-term actions to double down on core goals of the community, including fostering an amazing learning environment, supporting and retaining teachers, and providing affordable care for families. Our family relocated to Missoula in 2020 and are immensely grateful for the community we have started to build here and amazing access to the things we love.

Jenica Andersen, Vice President:

This is my fourth year on the board of directors--a tenure that has brought some of my favorite connections to the greater community (especially during the year+ of increased isolation). My son, Soren, thrived during the three years he spent at Clark Fork School and is now a second-grader at Paxson. We credit CFS and its INCREDIBLE TEACHERS for nurturing some of Soren’s most beloved qualities.  My daughter, Colette, is enrolled for the fall of 2022.

Alexa Schirtzinger, Secretary:

This is my second year on the CFS Board of Directors. Before becoming Treasurer, I served as chair of the Community Committee. I’m excited to continue helping build a strong community (in spite of whatever new challenges we face!). My husband, Tony, and I are so grateful for the positive influence of Clark Fork School in the lives of our two sons, Taylor (CFS graduate) and Charlie (Meadowlark) . When I’m able to escape my day job, I spend as much time as possible skiing, floating, trail running, and pretty much anything you can do with kids under a clear Montana sky.

Robin Nygren, Board Member:

This is my second year serving on the CFS board and I am thrilled to work with such a wonderful community. My daughter, Lucy, recently graduated from CFS and my son, Bobby, is a Bunting. My husband and I have been so impressed with the amazing teachers at Clark Fork and we have loved seeing how much our children have grown both academically and emotionally. I am in my ninth year as the Library Media Specialist at Rattlesnake Elementary and have had the pleasure of teaching many Clark Fork graduates! In my free time I enjoy drawing, painting, running, and adventuring with my husband Mark, our treasure-hunting toddlers, and our fearless corgi Winston.

Briggs Anderson, Board Treasurer:

Father of Harper (CFS ‘17-’19), Calvin (CFS ‘18-’22) and Hugo (CFS’20-’23). I am currently the owner/operator of some of the Jiffy Lube stores in Missoula and western Montana. I serve on the National Ad Board for Jiffy Lube International. I also do some work in real estate and land development. I have a strong background in business financial analysis from my time as a business owner and before that as a build project manager for the private commodity company, Cargill. I served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. After deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, I taught leadership, tactics and strategy and The Basic School-Marine Corps’ junior officer training program. I joined the CFS board as a way to give back to a school that has given our family so much!

Ingrid Hazlett, Board Member:

My husband, Alex, and I are parents of two CFS Students: Henrik and Indi. We moved to Missoula from Denver, Colorado about 5 years ago and have been part of the CFS Community for 2 years. We are so grateful for all the amazing teachers and staff we have gotten the opportunity to work with during our time here. It takes a village!!
